This
section covers network, data and physical security. Gartner says that 70%
of all security breaches happen from within. How secure is your company?
Trust is an admirable quality but it does come with a potential high cost.
It is sad to say in this day and age security is a very serious and potentially
expensive business.
Joshua Tree Systems take security very seriously indeed not only are all
our client relationships secured we help others move to a greater awareness.
Network
Security.
Networks can be physical (cabled) and wireless. Both can be susceptible
to attack. Access to the physical needs protecting via client / server authentication
along with the restriction of dubious or incomplete broadcasts. Wireless
networks are new and therefore high profile. Care must be taken to ensure
that they are deployed in the correct environment to ensure a high level
of security is maintained.
Data Security.
Is your data secured via encryption? If it is stored on a server managed
by a third party to what level is it protected? Do you connect to the Internet,
if so is that access secured to
prevent unauthorised access?
Physical Security.
Although this is stating the obvious it should always be under review to ensure procedures are correct and enforced. Physical access to vulnerable areas will result in the breach of the above two area. Without the physical the logical access is harder to achieve.
