Placing a value on data may not be something previously thought about. However two questions need to be answered.

Q. What value do you put on your data?
Q. If all of your data was to be lost (both paper and electronic)would your business still be able to function?

Data Integrity.

All data, by its very description is held on a volatile medium, CD Rom can be scratched, wear over time or even lost. Hard disk's can fail, corrupt or be stolen. Backup devices can also follow the same pattern. All items are also prone to failure when in contact with fire. Is this data checked or validated during this time, is it stored in the correct environment? These and other issues are covered within the Joshua Tree Systems data planning guide.

Data Protection.

In the event of an unauthorised visitor to the data environment what steps have been taken to restrict access at the data level? Encryption is easy to deploy but requires planning and procedures to manage and control. If the key is lost to encrypted data the data is then in effect lost. Joshua Tree Systems offer comprehensive data security models based upon the required level of security.
